Community Buildings

Village Halls and Community buildings host a multitude of services in villages and provide a focal point for the community including social, recreational, educational and cultural activities as well as key services.

Village Halls are run by volunteer committees who give up their own time, so it is therefore essential that Rural Community Councils like CCA provide a comprehensive support service to assist the volunteers in making sense of the legislation, rules and regulations that apply to community buildings and provide support to those volunteers when they need it.

The needs of community building management committees vary massively from obtaining small grants for basic but necessary building improvements to taking on public services and generating their own electricity to reduce their carbon footprint and create a long term income stream. This year our member halls received direct one-to-one assistance on a range of topics including finding funding, completion of grant applications, guidance with lease documents, assistance with policies & procedures, engaging with volunteers and energy efficiency improvements
