Hallmark Quality Standard Scheme
The Hallmark Scheme is a quality standard offered to village halls that was launched by ACRE in 2007 and currently operates in 19 counties.
It gives halls a framework to help them assess how to improve the management of theis buildings. It is carried out by trained peer visitors using a checklist to identify areas that are run well and areas that need improvement.
So why undergo a Hallmark assessment?
- Prove to funders that your hall is well managed and that you have robust governance in place to handle their funds
- Give the volunteers on your committee and your existing user groups confidence that your hall is well run
- Use the standard to help market your hall to potential new user groups, thus increading your bookings and income
- Identify the areas for improvement in a structured, non-confrontational way that can then be followed up and implemented with support from our Village Hall Advisors
- Apply quality systems that are locally relevant but draw on national standards
- Share best practice and ideas with other local halls, particularly where there are common problems
- Access local training opportunities suitable to your needs
