Village Agents are on the Way
Cheshire Community Action is launching a new project, Village Agents.
Our Village Agents will provide a one stop shop of services for vulnerable adults and older people in selected rural parishes of Cheshire West and Chester. It will enable them to remain independent in their own homes and link them into the network of support and services of which they may not be aware.
The pilot will be delivered through two Village Agents who will work in Tattenhall and Malpas parishes, spending time on the ground each week visiting individuals in drop in activities or at home. The identification of target users will be through local sources such as Parish Councillors, local groups, health and care professionals, leaflet drops in the area, word of mouth through attendance at local events and activities and parish notices. By spending time with individuals, the Village Agents will aim to build up trust and assess what support the individual needs in a discreet way and give them information on local activities and services that may be of interest / use to them.
Funding for the pilot is through the Leader programme and will last for 18 months.
