Parish Plans Funding
The major funding sources for Parish Plans in Cheshire, both East and West:
Parish Plan Starter Grant
Funding body:
Cheshire East Council or Cheshire West & Chester Council (as appropriate)
Amount:
Maximum award £250.00, If a Parish Plan Development Grant is later awarded the two sums together cannot exceed £3,000.00
Applicant:
Parish Council
Purpose:
To cover initial start up costs of a Parish Plan and all activities and expenditure directly referable to this e.g. room and equipment hire, stationery, catering etc.
Process:
Application through the Parish Plan Development Officer at Cheshire Community Action who has delegated authority to make the decision.
Award:
Made by the Parish Plan Development Officer on behalf of the Rural Community and Parish Planning Group.
Time limit:
Completion of the work within 6 months of date of award.
Payment:
One advance payment made payable to Parish Council.
Parish Development Plan Grant
Funding body:
Cheshire East Council or Cheshire West & Chester Council (as appropriate).
Amount:
Maximum award £3,000.00 or 75% of project costs, whichever is the lower. 20% of the project costs are required to be covered by contributions in kind and 5% of the project costs by cash. If a Parish Plan Starter Grant has previously been paid then the two sums together cannot exceed £3,000.00.
Applicant:
Parish Council and Parish Plan Group
Purpose:
To cover costs of producing a Parish Plan and all activities and expenditure directly referable to this e.g. room and equipment hire, stationery, catering, printing, publicity etc.
Process:
Application through Cheshire Community Action to Rural Community and Parish Planning Group(a sub regional grouping) after initial eligibility assessment by Parish Plans Development Officer.
Award:
Made by Rural Community and Parish Planning Group - decision final.
Time Limit:
Completion of the work within 12 months of date of award.
Payment:
One advance payment made payable to Parish Council.
Parish Plan Implementation Grant
Funding body:
Cheshire East Council or Cheshire West & Chester Council (as appropriate).
Amount:
Maximum award £3,000.00
Applicant:
Parish Council and Parish Plan Implementation Group
Purpose:
To cover costs of implementing a Parish Plan; including the running costs of a Parish Plan Implementation Group, such as room hire, stationery, telephone calls, postage etc; carrying out projects identified in a Parish Plan action plan such as setting up a website, producing a business directory or newsletter, new signage or seating; and any training costs associated directly with implementation.
Process:
Application through Cheshire Community Action to Rural Community and Parish Planning Group (a sub regional grouping) after initial eligibility assessment by Parish Plans Development Officer.
Award:
Made by Rural Community and Parish Planning Group - decision final.
Time limit:
Completion of the work within a period indicated in the award letter.
Payment:
One advance payment made payable to Parish Council.
